Physical Secure Key

(The one that looks like a mini calculator)

Having a spot of bother with your Physical Secure Key? Get the lowdown on how to fix most problems you might come across.

I want to switch to a Digital Secure Key

  1. download the first direct App on a compatible device if you haven’t already
  2. enter your username
  3. select an option to verify it's you, either using your full password and a one-time passcode sent by text message, or via a code generated on your Physical Secure Key.
  4. follow the steps to complete the chosen action
  5. create and confirm your new Digital Secure Key PIN

You can now log on to Mobile Banking from this device or generate a code to access your Online Banking. You can also set up face or fingerprint recognition, if it’s available on your device, to log on next time.

As soon as you've activated your Digital Secure Key, we'll automatically deactivate your old Physical Secure Key to help keep your account secure.

I’ve lost my Physical Secure Key

If you’ve lost your Physical Secure Key, please call us on 03 456 100 100 so we can deactivate it for you.

Once you've done that, we'd recommend using a Digital Secure Key instead. It sits on your smartphone as part of our App, which makes it more convenient – and harder to lose, too.
