We’re here to help you if coronavirus is having an impact on your finances. There is a package of support available, but we know everyone’s situation will be different.

If you’re in financial difficulty, the sorts of things we could offer include:

• giving early access to fixed rate savings accounts without closure charges
• support with unsecured debt by offering space, tailored to individual customer need
• the option to apply for an increase in credit card and overdraft limits
• request a payment holiday, the opportunity to apply to extend the remaining term of your mortgage or switch your rate.

If you need help please give us a ring anytime on 03 456 100 100.

We also have more information on how to deal with your finances on our money worries page.

Mortgage payment holiday

We’ve put payment holidays in place for our customers who have been financially impacted by coronavirus.

If you are concerned about your ability to pay your mortgage or other debt this month then the most important thing is to talk to us so we can provide the right support for you.

If your next mortgage payment is due within 7 working days, we may be unable to stop the payment from being made, and your payment holiday will take effect as of the next scheduled payment.

You can call us to discuss options on 03 456 100 103, lines are open Mon to Sat 8am to 8pm and Sun 9am to 8pm.

Alternatively to request up to three months mortgage payment holiday, complete this form, return back to fd.sales.support@firstdirect.com and we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. This email address is for mortgage payment holiday form submission only. It’s really important you fully complete it, as we are not able to progress your application without it. You will need to have your mortgage account number and your payment date to hand which you can find on Online Banking, our app or on a mortgage statement.

Deferring Personal Loan repayments

We’re offering our personal loan customers who have been financially impacted by the coronavirus the option to defer 3 monthly loan repayments. If repayments are deferred, it means they don’t need to be made when they’re due under your agreement with us, giving you longer to pay them.

To request a deferral of your next 3 monthly loan repayments, complete this form, return it to lending.support@firstdirect.com and we’ll be in touch as soon as possible to let you know if we’ve accepted your request. We can’t process any requests without receiving a fully completed form so please ensure you attach it to your email. This email address is for submitting requests to defer loan repayments only. You’ll need to have your loan account number and your next payment date to hand which you can find on Online Banking, our app or on your loan statement.

Please be aware that by submitting this form you are confirming your income or finances have been impacted as a result of the coronavirus. If this does not apply to you, you should not submit a request to defer your repayments, however, if your circumstances should change in the future you will be able to apply.

Upon completion and submission of the form, if your next loan repayment is due within the next 7 working days, you should cancel the standing order from the account which you make your loan repayments from.
