Transfer your ISA

Bring all your ISAs together in three steps

If you have existing ISAs with another provider you can transfer them to us so that all of your ISAs are held in the same place.

We've made it easy to transfer both cash ISAs and Stocks and Shares ISAs to us from the current tax year and/or previous tax years. Simply follow the steps below.

If you decide to apply direct, that is without receiving advice, you should understand that we are not required to assess the suitability of these funds for you. Therefore you will not be protected by the FSA's rules on assessing suitability. Please note that first direct does not give investment advice. If any doubt about the suitability of this investment speak to an independent qualified financial advisor.

Transferring your ISAs

Anyone can transfer an ISA from a previous year held with another provider, although you'll need to have a first direct current account - our 1st Account - to do so.

The first thing you should do is go through the relevant documents in the box on the left - they let you know exactly what's involved and how the process works. We suggest you print and save a copy of each for your records.

* You will see that we have added links to the relevant Key Investor Information Document next to the description of each fund in the "Investment Funds at a glance" section. The Key Investor Information Documents are provided for your information by the Fund Management Company administering the fund. HSBC Trust Company (UK) Limited is not responsible for the reliability or accuracy of the data provided by third parties.

We also strongly recommend that you read the Key Investor Information Document*. Where a Key Investor Information Document is not currently available for a certain fund we have provided a Simplified Prospectus.

Our downloads are in a PDF format. To read them you'll need to have Adobe Reader 4.0™ or above. It's free and you can get Adobe Reader here.

Once you've read and understood the transfer process, if you haven't already done so, you just need to print and complete the Selected Investment Fund Stocks and Shares ISA transfer form.

Selected Investment Fund Stocks and Shares ISA Transfer Form

Finally, once you've completed your ISA transfer form, send it to:

HSBC Trust Company (UK) Limited
Frobisher House
Nelson Gate
Commercial Road
Southampton
SO15 9DF.

We'll then contact your ISA provider and arrange for your investment to be transferred to the Selected Investment Funds Stocks and Shares ISA. That means we will sell your existing ISAs and use the cash proceeds to purchase investments in the Selected Investment Funds Stocks and Shares ISA.

The value of investments (and any income received from them) can fall as well as rise and you may not get back what you invested. For some investments this can also happen as a result of exchange rate fluctuations as shares and funds may have an exposure to overseas markets.

Any investment should be considered as a medium to long-term investment, that is, it should be held for at least five years.

The value of the tax benefits described above depends on your individual circumstances. Tax rules may change in the future.
