- what's included?

Worldwide Travel Insurance with Aviva

Our Worldwide Travel Insurance, provided by Aviva Insurance Limited, includes winter sports cover and covers you and your family (for eligible customers aged under 70). It includes cover for emergency medical treatment & repatriation if you or your family are ill or injured abroad, there's cover if you have to cancel your trip due to illness or travel disruption and baggage cover is included as standard.

Trips should be no longer than 31 days and must start and end in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

We will provide winter sports cover for up to 31 days in any calendar year.

Holidays in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man will only be covered if they include two or more consecutive nights stay in pre-booked holiday accommodation.

Cover is only provided for business travel to carry out office-based clerical or administrative duties.

Claims for death, injury, illness or disability are not covered if they result from you being under the influence or effect of alcohol or drugs.

Pre-existing medical conditions are not covered at any time under this policy unless they have been disclosed to and accepted by our medical assessment team.

Motor Breakdown Cover with AGA International SA

This 24 hour service helps give you peace of mind covering you as a driver or passenger of any eligible vehicle, for breakdowns at home or on any road in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man. Cover includes emergency roadside repairs and local recovery to the nearest suitable garage. In addition we will provide national recovery of your vehicle to a UK destination of your choice where repair cannot be made at the roadside or by a local repairer within 4 hours.

We will not cover:
The cost of labour and/or parts at any garage to which the vehicle is taken.
Claims where your vehicle is being used for commercial or business purposes or is a motorcycle.
Missing or broken keys. We will try to provide the details of a locksmith but you will need to pay for the work carried out.
Replacing tyres or windows.

Mobile Phone Insurance with Allianz Insurance

Accidentally damaging, losing or having your mobile phone stolen can be expensive. Fortunately, First Directory's Mobile Phone Insurance covers you up to the value of £1000. Subject to a £50 excess per claim. Mobile Phone Insurance is provided by Allianz Insurance plc.

Reduced charges for non-Sterling cash withdrawals

First Directory members also enjoy cash withdrawals from machines abroad free of first direct ATM transaction fees, usually 2%, minimum £1.75, maximum £5.00 (on the account the First Directory fee debits from). However, some ATM operators may charge you for making withdrawals from their machines, and this will be advised on screen at the time of withdrawal.

A non-Sterling transaction fee of 2.75% will still apply to any transaction you make abroad. This fee will show separately on your statement as a 'non-Sterling transaction fee'.

Some cash machine operators may apply a direct charge for withdrawals from their cash machines. This will be advised on screen at the time of withdrawal. first direct credit facilities are subject to status. first direct reserves the right to decline to open an account for you.

Worldwide Travel Insurance with Aviva

Our Worldwide Travel Insurance, provided by Aviva Insurance Limited, includes winter sports cover and covers you and your family (for eligible customers aged under 70). It includes cover if you have to cancel your trip or if you're forced to remain abroad due to the closure of airspace for more than 24 hours or if an airport or port you are travelling from (or through) is closed for the same period.

The maximum time you can spend outside the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man in any consecutive 12 month period is 183 days with a limit of 31 days per trip.

We will provide winter sports cover for up to 31 days in any calendar year.

Holidays in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man will only be covered if they include two or more consecutive nights stay in pre-booked holiday accommodation.

We will not cover claims arising from paid or unpaid manual work or physical labour of any kind or business travel involving any dealings with members of the public.

Claims for death, injury, illness or disability are not covered if they result from you being under the influence or effect of alcohol or drugs.

Pre-existing medical conditions are not covered at any time under this policy unless they have been disclosed to and accepted by our medical assessment team.
